FILMMAKING: High School

Filmmakers will create their very own 5-10 min short film with the support of a group of film-loving peers and the guidance of a professional film instructor. Over the course of 12 weeks, makers will engage in: mini film challenges, pitching ideas, script writing, film director research, watching and discussing films, storyboarding, camera techniques, three weekend shoots, and editing. The class will celebrate each film with a culminating event where friends and family see their work and participate in a Q&A with the filmmakers about their process (LIMIT: 6)

GRADES: 9-12

TIME: 12 Mondays, 4PM-5:30

DATES: Sept. 14-Dec. 21 

(No classes: Sept. 28, Oct 12, Nov. 23)

  • Smartphone editing app

  • Google account (Google Classroom)

  • Paper and pencil 

  • ProMovie App *High School Requirement

FILMMAKING: Middle School 

Filmmakers will create their very own 3-6 min short film with the support of a group of film-loving peers and the guidance of a professional film instructor. Over the course of 8 weeks, makers will engage in mini film challenges, pitching ideas, script writing, storyboarding, camera techniques, three weekend shoots, and editing. The class will celebrate each film with a culminating event where friends and family see their work and ask questions from the filmmakers about their process and even ask questions. (LIMIT: 6)

GRADES: 6-8 

TIME: 8 Tuesdays, 4PM-5:30

DATES: Sept. 15 - Nov.3
