Finding Inspiration in Every Note
Our Story
The Studio's conservatory-trained teachers are passionate about sharing their love of music and helping students develop solid foundational technique as they master level-appropriate repertoire. We began working together during the pandemic to meet the needs of a growing population of students signing up to study piano online. While isolating, we recognized the urgency of building community through our every interaction and offering, and constantly shared best practices with oneanother in our new modality.
Today, we have logged over 5000 hours of virtual teaching combined and continue robust online programming and piano lessons, even as we have also opened up for in-person learning. Detailed lesson notes, a carefully curated online music library and many in-person and virtual studio events remain important hallmarks of the studio. Our piano team continues to meet regularly to share and brainstorm, and to discuss each student's progress.

The Studio's Founder, Vivian Chang Freiheit, is based in Chevy Chase, MD and oversees all of the studio's in-person and online teaching and programming. The Studio's virtual teachers are available for private lessons and practice sessions, and also share in leading the studio's Zoom concerts.
