Clarinet Lessons
EDUCATION
Dr. Gabriela Cohen earned her D.M.A in Clarinet Performance from the University of Michigan, M.M. in Clarinet Performance from Yale School of Music, B.A. in English from Oberlin College and B.M. Clarinet Performance from Oberlin Conservatory. She also received Orff Schulwerk Level I training from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. Additionally, she is a certified First Steps in Music and Music Rhapsody teacher.
PERFORMANCE AND TEACHING
Originally from Mexico, Gabriela has been teaching bilingual early childhood music classes for sixteen years in the Washington DC area, and currently teaches at Levine School of Music, where she was also the Chair of the First Music Department for 8 years. As a clarinetist, she performs with the Amadeus Orchestra and has performed with the Washington Ballet, the Annapolis Symphony, the Virginia Chamber Orchestra and the Washingoton Concert Opera. She has been teaching clarinet for twenty years and maintains a private studio in Bethesda, Maryland
